In a private school, girls are being killed off one at a time, and a philander teacher (who is having a hot affair with one of the students), quickly becomes the prime suspect. If you've done your 'giallo' homework, you pretty much know how "Who Killed Solange?" is going to unfold. Plenty of red herrings keep the viewer guessing all the way to the end, while violent murder set pieces create a sordid form of entertainment. Not unlike Hitchcock's "Psycho," the story changes focus sometime half way through the film, which is a narrative device I thoroughly enjoyed. The acting is particularly good (Fabio Testi and Karin Baal are a good movie couple), and director Dallamano keeps the story moving at a fast pace. Also, I liked the ending, which was surprisingly believable. I did find a little hard to root for an amoral character, especially since I felt he deserved much of what happened to him, though. Ennio Morricone's music is great, and Joe D'Amato's flamboyant camera angles are a big plus. Recommended.
